1. Tell us your story on how you got into technology?

Before joining Dataprise, I took a chance by changing career paths to work in technology and worked as a Client Success Manager for a smaller Managed Service Provider (MSP).

2. Did you always know that working in technology was what you wanted to do?

Once I started in my previous position, I realized I loved the opportunity to learn so many new things and enjoyed my work with clients, so when I started job hunting again, I applied to all similar roles in the MSP/technology space because I loved it so much!

3. How long have you been with Dataprise

Since September 2022, almost 6 months.

4. Can you share a little bit about what it is that you do and what a typical day for you is like?

My typical day is engaging with clients via phone and email to discuss new solutions or help with any technical issues they may be having with their services.

5. What advice would you give to women considering a career in the tech industry? What do you wish you had known?

There is so much to learn! When people ask me, I say it’s like learning a new language. Just be open to learning! Technology is ever-changing and evolving; so know that even though there is a lot of learning, it is also so rewarding.

6. Why do you think it’s important for more women to join the tech industry? How can the broader community support women in tech?

This is a mostly male-dominated industry, so it’s nice to see women on the rise in the field. Having different perspectives is huge and I personally feel my softer approach to customers has taken me very far with my clients. I am knowledgeable, but I take the time to listen and let them share and suggest things we can do to help solve their IT challenges.

7. What do you think is the best part of being a woman in the tech industry?

There’s endless potential! There are so many avenues you can take to grow and be a leader and this is where I want to be – the possibilities to rise up are thrilling.

8. What is it that you enjoy most about your current job at Dataprise?

The culture, the people, my team, and my leaders. I have some of the very best leaders that have already taught me so much and I am excited to learn and continue to learn from them! They are supportive and strong, motivating; I aspire to be just like them!  I haven’t worked with one person at Dataprise who isn’t an outstanding partner and co-worker.

9. What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?

In my first career change, my boss at the time shared with me advice he was given and I really took it to heart: “Be open and step outside of your comfort zone, stay curious, be teachable, and you will grow with endless potential.”

10. Where do you see yourself going from here?

I am not sure really sure and that’s what’s exciting. I know I want to grow and that can be in many different directions so for now I’m focusing on challenging myself, growing my skills, and expanding my footprint here at Dataprise.
