Dataprise Women in Technology: Meet Abbe

This month for our Women in Technology, we are spotlighting Abbe, one of our Account Executives! Read about her story and how she started in technology.

Tell us your story on how you got into technology.

My background has always centered around sales and leadership roles that allowed me to connect with people across various industries. One of those opportunities led me to a sales position at Dell, and from there, I transitioned into my current role as an Account Executive at Dataprise.

How long have you been with Dataprise?

I joined Dataprise in December 2024.

Can you share a little bit about what it is that you do and what a typical day for you is like?

In my role, I partner with clients and prospects to understand their environments, identify gaps in their IT and security strategies, and connect them with the right solutions. A typical day includes discovery conversations, collaboration with our technical experts on solution planning, and a lot of active listening to align real-world challenges with practical managed services.

What advice would you give to women considering a career in the tech industry? What do you wish you had known?

My advice: “You don’t have to be the most technical person in the room to belong in tech.” Focus on being curious, asking questions and building your skills one step at a time.

Why do you think it’s important for more women to join the tech industry? How can the broader community support women in tech?

More women in tech matter because the products, services, and systems we create should reflect the diversity of the people who use them. Different perspectives reveal blind spots, challenge assumptions, and inspire innovation. If you have the chance to mentor another woman—do it!

What do you think is the best part of being a woman in the tech industry?

Showing others that there isn’t just one “type” of person who fits in this industry.

What is it that you enjoy most about your current job at Dataprise?

I love the mix of relationship-building and problem-solving. Every client has a unique story, and I enjoy collaborating on solutions that help strengthen and secure their environments. Plus, I’m surrounded by an amazing team that supports both me and our clients every day.

What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?

“Be brave enough to be terrible.” Have the courage to try new things, kick perfectionism to the curb, and embrace the growth that comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.

Where do you see yourself going from here?

I plan to continue growing in my role as an Account Executive and trusted advisor, helping clients solve complex challenges and driving meaningful outcomes.
