This month for our Women in Technology, we are spotlighting Casey, our AR Specialist! Read about her story and how she started in technology.

Tell us your story on how you got into technology.

I didn’t begin my career with the intention of working in technology, but I was always drawn to problem-solving and improving my skill set. As I gained experience, I naturally gravitated toward systems and processes. Over time, that curiosity and hands-on learning led me to IT within finance, where I continue to enjoy learning, adapting, and making a meaningful impact.

How long have you been with Dataprise?

Almost 2 years!

Can you share a little bit about what it is that you do and what a typical day for you is like?

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, I manage customer accounts, apply payments accurately, and help resolve billing questions. My day typically involves reviewing account activity, researching discrepancies, and working closely with both customers and internal teams to keep accounts current and running smoothly.

What advice would you give to women considering a career in the tech industry? What do you wish you had known?

My advice would be to not underestimate your skills or hesitate to step into the tech space—there are many paths into technology, including finance and operations. You don’t need to know everything right away; curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn go a long way. I wish I had known earlier that asking questions and learning as you go is not a weakness, but one of the greatest strengths you can bring to a career in tech.

Why do you think it’s important for more women to join the tech industry? How can the broader community support women in tech?

It’s important for more women to join the tech industry because diverse perspectives lead to better solutions, stronger collaboration, and more inclusive systems. Women bring valuable experiences and skills that help technology better support the people and businesses it serves.

The broader community can support women in tech by encouraging mentorship, creating opportunities for growth, and fostering environments where women feel confident asking questions, sharing ideas, and advancing their careers.

What do you think is the best part of being a woman in the tech industry?

The best part of being a woman in tech is the opportunity to bring a unique perspective and contribute to a field that thrives on innovation and problem-solving. It’s rewarding to collaborate, make an impact, and inspire other women to pursue and grow in their tech careers.

What is it that you enjoy most about your current job at Dataprise?

What I enjoy most about my role at Dataprise is the opportunity to solve problems while working closely with both customers and internal teams. I enjoy bringing clarity to accounts, improving processes, and knowing that my work directly supports the company’s success and strong client relationships.

What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve ever received is to ask questions and not be afraid to admit when I don’t know something. Early in my career, I worried about always having the answers, but I learned that curiosity and a willingness to learn not only helped me grow but also built stronger relationships with my team and clients.

Where do you see yourself going from here?

I hope to keep growing at the intersection of finance and technology, taking on new challenges, improving processes, and helping more women succeed in tech.
