This month our Women in Technology, we are spotlights Danielle, one of our Service Service Delivery Managers! Read about her story and how she started in technology.

Tell us your story on how you got into technology.

I never really intended to get into the tech space, but when I was 19, I found Wireless Watchdogs through a temp agency. I was simply on the hunt for a full-time job that would provide me with more opportunities as I grew, and Wireless Watchdogs gave me that. I started in Customer Service and moved all the way up to where I am now, as a Senior Account Manager for the Mobility team within Dataprise.

Did you always know that working in technology was what you wanted to do?

Absolutely not. I never saw myself getting into it, but since I had the opportunity to dive in, I found myself really enjoying it.

How long have you been with Dataprise?

Since 2016 – celebrating my 8 year mark this year.

Can you share a little bit about what it is that you do and what a typical day for you is like?

I look over reporting, assist clients with escalations and billing inquiries, and continue to build relationships with my new and existing clients.

What advice would you give to women considering a career in the tech industry? What do you wish you had known?

I would say to not feel intimated. It may be a male dominated field, but women are just as important and capable! Don’t get discouraged.

Why do you think it’s important for more women to join the tech industry? How can the broader community support women in tech?

It lets the younger generations of women know that they are just as worthy to be in tech as anybody else. Women can bring a different way of thinking into tech and provide additional valuable input that previously may have been missing.

What do you think is the best part of being a woman in the tech industry?

I enjoy seeing how the climate has changed, even in the short 7 years I’ve been a part of the tech space, and there’s much better female representation today than when I was first starting out in the field. It’s amazing to see.

What is it that you enjoy most about your current job at Dataprise?

I really enjoy that I have the flexibility to work from home and maintain a  good work/life balance. I also really enjoy the people I get to work with.

What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?

To always feel/act confident in what you are saying. Even if you aren’t confident, you should portray that you are.

Where do you see yourself going from here?

I hope to continue to gain more clients within my current position and excel in my role.
