This month for our Women in Technology, we are spotlighting Destiny, our Executive Assistant! Read about her story and how she started in technology.

Tell us your story on how you got into technology.

I may not be a technology expert myself, but I thrive as the background support for the incredible tech professionals at Dataprise — handling logistics, scheduling, and coordination to make their lives easier and their work more seamless.

How long have you been with Dataprise?

I have been with Dataprise for 1 year 7 months

Can you share a little bit about what it is that you do and what a typical day for you is like?

A typical day for me involves supporting our Executive Leadership team by managing their schedules, coordinating travel, organizing meetings, and preparing documents and presentations. I also collaborate with multiple departments across Dataprise to ensure tasks are completed, while planning and coordinating events and overseeing day-to-day operations at our Headquarters.

What advice would you give to women considering a career in the tech industry? What do you wish you had known?

My advice to women considering a career in the tech industry is to remember that you don’t have to be ‘the tech person’ to build a meaningful career here. There are so many vital roles, from operations and project management to logistics and leadership support.

Why do you think it’s important for more women to join the tech industry? How can the broader community support women in tech?

It’s important for more women to join the tech industry because diversity brings new perspectives, creativity, and innovation. When women are at the table, teams become stronger, more collaborative, and better at solving problems that impact a wide range of people. The broader community can support women in tech by creating inclusive environments, offering mentorship and sponsorship opportunities, and ensuring that career development resources are accessible.

What do you think is the best part of being a woman in the tech industry?

The best part of being a woman in the tech industry is being able to bring a different perspective and contribute to an environment that’s constantly evolving. I enjoy knowing that my work; even if it’s behind the scenes, helps empower incredible teams to do what they do best. It’s rewarding to see how my skills in organization, problem-solving, and relationship-building make a real impact in an industry that thrives on innovation

What is it that you enjoy most about your current job at Dataprise?

I truly enjoy connecting with everyone at Dataprise. From the Executive Leadership Team to associates, I’ve found the people here to be amazing colleagues and a pleasure to work with.

What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?

The best professional advice I’ve received is to never take things personally in business. No matter what the situation, maintain your composure and always keep your poker face

Where do you see yourself going from here?

“To be determined; I’m still early in my career and focused on making a name for myself now.”
