This month for our Women in Technology, we are spotlighting Jessica on our Service Delivery team! Read about her story and how she started in technology.

Tell us your story on how you got into technology.

My background has always been centered around customers and building relationships through customer service focused roles. Through those experiences, I became increasingly exposed to technology, and that curiosity and interest eventually led me to transition into tech.

How long have you been with Dataprise?

A little over a year, I joined Dataprise in March 2025.

Can you share a little bit about what it is that you do and what a typical day for you is like?

As a Service Delivery Manager, I focus on building and maintaining client relationships, ensuring current services are delivered successfully, and supporting overall client satisfaction. I also help identify and resolve operational issues while making sure clients have the support they need.

A typical day usually includes client calls or meetings, emails, and collaborating with both internal and external teams to help find solutions and keep operations running smoothly, and much more.

What advice would you give to women considering a career in the tech industry? What do you wish you had known?

My advice is that you don’t have to be the most technical or “tech-savvy” person to succeed in the industry. A lot of it comes down to communication, asking the right questions, taking initiative, and being able to drive tasks and projects forward. Also, being open to continuous education and development can help take you a long way in tech.

I wish I had known earlier that there isn’t just one path into technology. Many people come from a variety of backgrounds and degrees, and the skills gained from other experiences can be just as valuable in this field. I think that anyone who is willing to learn and open to new opportunities may discover a new passion in the tech industry.

Why do you think it’s important for more women to join the tech industry? How can the broader community support women in tech?

More women in tech means more diverse perspectives, which can help teams create stronger ideas, collaborate more effectively, and drive innovation. Since technology impacts everyone, having a workforce that reflects the diversity of its users helps create more solutions and better serve clients and communities.

The broader community can support women by encouraging mentorship and creating equal opportunities where everyone feels supported, valued, and empowered.

What do you think is the best part of being a woman in the tech industry?

I think one of the best parts of being a woman in the tech industry is bringing unique perspectives to a traditionally male-dominated field and helping create positive change. We’re also helping build more supportive and inclusive environments together.

What is it that you enjoy most about your current job at Dataprise?

I enjoy the people I work with and the opportunity to partner with clients, while getting to know them and being part of their growth and success. It’s rewarding to see the impact we make through our services, products, and systems. I also really enjoy working with other team members, learning from one another, and working together toward shared goals.

What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?

The best professional advice I’ve received is to focus on building strong relationships and connections with both team members and clients. These relationships are especially valuable when challenges arise and are helpful when resolving issues.

Where do you see yourself going from here?

Technology is always evolving, and I see long-term growth and opportunity within the technology field. I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and see where it may take me 😊.
