How to Set Up Simultaneous Ring and Call Forwarding

With voice capabilities in Microsoft Teams, you can use simultaneous ring and call forwarding to help manage your calls. Watch this video or use the instructions below to learn how.

Setting Up Simultaneous Ring in Teams

  1. Click on the ellipsis next to your photo in the top right corner of your screen and choose Settings from the drop down.
  2. Select Calls on the left side and find the section titled Call Answering Rules.
  3. Change the Incoming Calls option by selecting Calls Ring Me.
  4. Using the dropdown next to Also Ring, choose New Number or Contact.
  5. You can add a contact by typing their name or email. You can also type in any valid phone number.
  6. Click Add to finish setting up simultaneously ring. If you exit your settings, these changes will automatically be saved.
  7. To turn Simultaneous Ring off, go back to Settings and switch the Also Ring dropdown back to No One Else.

Turning on Call Forwarding in Teams

  1. Click on the ellipsis next to your photo in the top right corner of your screen and choose Settings from the drop down.
  2. Select Calls on the left side and find the section titled Call Answering Rules.
  3. Switch the incoming Calls option to Forward My Calls.
  4. Your available options will change automatically to Forward To. Use the dropdown to select New Number or Contact, or select someone you’ve used before who will be listed here for easy access.
  5. Exit your settings to save your changes.
  6. To turn call forwarding off, go back to Settings, reselect Calls Ring Me and make sure the dropdown next to Also Ring is set to No One Else.
