Marissa: Tell us your story on how you got into recruiting in the technology industry.

Lindsay: I started out my career recruiting in the healthcare industry and really enjoyed that as the healthcare industry was booming back then. After being laid off, I came to work for Dataprise and began my career in IT recruiting. I’ve loved it since the very first day as its always evolving and certainly an ever evolving industry that’s not going anywhere.

Marissa: Did you always know that working in technology was what you wanted to do?

Lindsay: No, I went to school for Marketing and had no idea where my career was going to take me! That said, I always knew that I wanted to work in an industry that had a lot of growth potential and endless possibilities when it came to my career. Working for Dataprise has provided me with such a fantastic opportunity to learn, develop, and grow.

Marissa: Can you share a little bit about what it is that you do and what a typical day for you is like?

Lindsay: I’m a Corporate Recruiter for Dataprise and have been here over 7 years. I’m on a team that is responsible for hiring for any open role at the company and since we’re growing so much, it’s quite busy and challenging! It’s also very rewarding. I spend my day engaging with top talent around the nation to bring them to our company to provide world-class IT support to our clients. I’m often the first person new potential employees speak to from Dataprise so it’s really neat to hire them and watch them flourish!

Marissa: What is one piece of advice you’d give to young women looking to get into the technology field?

Lindsay: Learn as much as possible about the profession or path in technology you wish to pursue. Acquiring different skills will add tools to your tool belt and having the best tools will help you build your career in this industry.

Marissa: What do you think is the best part of being a woman in the tech industry?

Lindsay: Now more than ever, I feel that women’s career possibilities are limitless, and I hope to play a small part in bridging the gap in a male-dominated industry.

Marissa: What is it that you enjoy most about your current job at Dataprise?

Lindsay: Watching the employees I have hired thrive at Dataprise – seeing them grow, move up, or advance; knowing I brought them here and aided in their career trajectory. I also find so much satisfaction contributing to the larger mission of Dataprise which is to help our clients win with IT.

Marissa: Where do you see yourself going from here?

Lindsay: I’m very passionate about Talent Acquisition and being a part of a team that brings top talent to our company. I want to continue finding the right people to bring to Dataprise and helping the company to continue to grow and dominate the MSP world.
