Ways to Prevent System Downtime in Summer Storms or Natural Disasters

Last Friday night’s severe storms left thousands of people without power on the east coast, and three days later businesses are still struggling to get technology back up and running.

More than 300 of our customer’s systems were down due to the storm and approximately 25% of them are still experiencing severe downtime — now more than 72 hours later. Dataprise technologies were also in ‘storm’ jeopardy, but because of our robust disaster recovery and business continuity contingency plan, we didn’t experience a single minute of downtime due to power loss, and we were able to continue to keep all of our data, and most importantly — our customer’s data safe, secure and available for use. For us and our clients that chose to host their critical systems in our datacenter, it was business as usual.

Does your business have a disaster recovery/business continuity plan in place?
