A recent case study released by Dell confirmed that Dataprise’s Managed Remote Backup and Disaster Recovery (MRB-DR) Services reduced The Truland Group’s administrative costs by 60 percent and required storage space by 30 to 40 percent.

The Truland Group set out to find a comprehensive, flexible, and proactive backup solution to replace their outdated backup and recovery methods. Their productivity was plummeting; an estimated 25 to 30 hours a week were wasted on their makeshift backup and recovery solutions, which involved constantly rebooting servers to confirm the backup was running, and mailing their data on hard drives to the service provider.

Truland turned to Dataprise’s MRB-DR service, which includes the flexible and adaptable Dell AppAssure software. Dataprise’s MRB-DR replicates data over the Internet, and then stores it at a state-of-the-art data center facility, where it can easily be recovered in the event of a server failure or natural disaster, and restored to a new hardware platform or virtual server environment within hours. The service also includes automatic data compression, secure data encryption, and 24×7 backup monitoring and support by a dedicated backup and recovery team.

When asked why he chose Dataprise’s MRB-DR service, Harvey Batra, Truland’s Information Technology Director said, “Dataprise not only came in with a good solution through Dell AppAssure, but they also brought it in at a cost that is much, much less than what we were paying.”

With the help of a Dataprise Senior Program Manager, Dataprise and Dell’s AppAssure were able to minimize the business risk of data loss, increased productivity significantly, and eliminated the labor costs of making backups and physically shipping drives for DR. Truland reported a savings of about $120,000 a year, a reduction of required storage by 30 to 40 percent, and the company is now able to make better use of its valuable IT resources.
